Candle Care Instructions
TRIMMING YOUR WICK
Trim your wick 1/4″ inch before each burn. You can use a wick trimmer or even a pair of scissors. This will ensure that your candle burns a little longer and safer. It is helpful to do this before you light your candle as you don’t want the debris to fall into the wax when it is lit.
DON'T BURN NEXT TO KIDS, PETS, OR FLAMMABLES
It is important to not leave an open flame near any children or pets who may be at risk of harming themselves or others. Burn your candles on a non-flammable surface where they are in sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended. It helps to keep it away from a draft so that the flame does not risk carrying and helps to burn more evenly.
WATCH THE BURN TIME
Burning a candle too long will cause carbon to collect on the wick, leading it to “mushroom.” The wick will become unstable and produce a dangerously large flame causing the candle to smoke and release soot. So, it is recommended that candles do not burn for longer than 4 hours and cool for at least 2 hours before relighting.
WHEN TO DISCONTINUE USAGE
Last but definitely not least, retire your candle once only ¼–½ inch of wax remains. Stopping at this point protects the vessel from overheating or cracking, and keeps your burn experience beautifully safe from start to finish. When the wax is gone, the story isn’t—give your candle jar a new life as a chic container, keepsake holder, or whatever inspires you next.
